This is the best of its kindThis is the best of its kind, so far as I have been able to find. First learned of this specific device from a podiatrist when I had a bunion removed. I now are sleeping in one of these each night to retrain misaligned big toe and the adjacent toe. Guessing this will take a while to retrain the bones in my toes. What I have already observed in the last week is that my toes are more in alignment for the first few minutes after removing the splint each morning. 3Not happyaccording to the picture I thought there was going to be a some what rigid support for the big toe. The wrap that goes around the toe does not stay in place, it slides down to the base of the toe not giving it the "straighten" effect, just makes my toe sore in between. it is pretty bulky to wear inside shoes and is uncomfortable in my arch. If I would have known this I never would have ordered it. It was a waste of my money. I had read a lot of reviews on it but didn't get a real clear picture of its usefulness. 2Don t waste your moneyMy doctor recommended this item prior to foot surgery. Prior to receiving it, I just used medical tape to hold a toe down. This item is lousy! It doesn t fit in a shoe and it doesn t do anything more for me than the tape did. If you have a second metatarsal issue with an incipient hammer toe, just use tape until you need surgery. 1Doctors orders!I got this for my brother in law following corrective surgery for bunions. He used it for several weeks with great results! It was hand washable and dries overnight...2 would be recommended. This product is not intended to correct bunions without surgery. Many of the disparaging reviewers did not take this into account. It works great for what it was designed to do...post surgical care! 5Fairly goodIt worked fairly well holding my overlaping little toes in place. I bought two - one for each foot. The only issue I had with it was that the elastic strap was a bit uncomfortable around my feet. I have rehumatoid artritis and that probably didn t help with the discomfort since my joints and feet in general are sensitive and the strap was too thick and stiff and not moving with my feet. My husband bought me a compression toeless sock and it happened to work like a charm with the velcro toe strap. So basically I am using only part of this product. 4Great for post-surgical toe alignmentIt is important to note, this splint is ONLY for use after surgery. it will not be of much help for non-surgical use such as for a cross over toe. I initially received this product from my foot surgeon for post-surgical care to hold the toes in alignment while I healed. I purchased another one so I could wash one and use the other. I actually ran them in a lingerie bag through the gentle cycle and they came out very well. After a period of time, the Velcro on the heel band does curl and not adhere as well. I found wearing a sock over it in bed was helpful. I also use safety pins to keep them secure once the Velcro starts to wear out. 5Best toe alignment product I've usedI have hammertoes and have tried several products. I like this one because it has Velcro strips that help hold toes in place. I wear them at night and wear socks because the Velcro pieces stick to each other if I am barefoot. I have tried wearing them in sneakers during the day but find it is a bit painful to walk, so mostly use at night. But they seem to be working, my toes are getting straighter. 5Great toe straightenerI purchased this toe separator after bunion surgery to align my toes and make then straight. Just like other reviewers have stated, it does the job but you can only keep them on for a certain amount of time before your circulation is cut off. I have worn these splints along with the triple toe straightener under my sneakers for a couple of hours without a problem. I also wear them to bed. I wish there was a way to order more loops but they are cheaper than anywhere else so I can just buy another pair when needed and keep the loops from the old one. 4This elastic band seems to give my arch some needed ...This elastic band seems to give my arch some needed support. I didn't want the alignment part but didn't see the elastic band by itself. I had an old Darco band but the velcro came loose and so needed a new one. I would have given five stars if the velcro strip were longer and the end of the band where the velcro is located were not quite so bulky. 4Very comfortable!!Excellent product for my post op toes!!! 5
