Customer Reviews

Outstanding while it workedMy review will be about the product which I had to get elsewhere because the seller on here never sent it and amazon did give refund. You have to be sure about measuring where it will go before buying. Bought extra small for a 3 year old. Went up above elbow. It worked great for about the 6 weeks then it became stretched out with pulling it apart to get over cast. Then it started to fail and allowed water in and cast got wet. This was all with swimming which this is supposed to be for. Was outstanding in tub for baths. She never complained about it and we were happy to find something swim proof for as long as we got.5Best purchase this SummerThis item saved a 10 year olds summer! Worked great. Very tight at first but after a few wears it stretches out a bit. Suctioned to her arm and kept "most" of the water out. I only say "most" because there was an occasional dampness after taking it off but never Wet! She swam like any girl with a broken casted arm would. Underwater and for hours. If you have a cast in the summer this will be your best friend!5OMG! Love it!! Happy Grandson!OMG! Amazing! Saved our vacation! My 6 year old grandson broke his arm right before are week beach trip, full arm cast. I ordered this cover. Also did what one reviewer suggested and wrapped the cast with press-n-seal (just in case some water got it) and put a mans tube sock over the cast (to prevent punctures in the cover). Let me tell you this thing saved our vacation! Not once did his cast ever get wet! He wasn't just splashing either, I'm talking full blown in the ocean and in the pool. His arm was completely submerged under water more than it wasn't and not one time got wet!! It looks a little strange, meaning it's a little big, but he didn't seem to care. His papaw kept calling him flipper. Lol. We also used it whenever he played in the sand so it wouldn't get down in his cast. It is a little difficult to get on, took myself and my daughter to get it on but oh so well worth it!! DryPro will be my go-to if ever needed again!5Best cast cover! Durable and easy to use. Does it s job well!Sooo much better than the cast covers you get at the drugstore that are not much thicker than a Ziploc. This is actual rubber and very durable. It held up to the antics of a very active four-year-old who swam with it at least three times a week for four weeks. It has a tight-but-not-circulation-inhibiting-tight seal and you suck the air out with a blood pressure bulb (included). Although I suppose it could double as a flotation device if you left the air in. (Disclaimer: Do not use this as a flotation device. I am only kidding. Please don t sue me.) It is a little tricky to get on at first, but if you put on a sock over the cast first, that helps it glide on more easily over any rough edges. The opening of the cover is tapered about 3/4 inch down so you have to stretch it to get it over the cast.) Aside from looking a bit like a walrus/seal/human mutant, it didn t seem to bother my four-year-old at all. But then perhaps that was all part of her master plan when she jumped off the trampoline...(P.S. She has her cast off now, but the doctor said no trampoline or jumping off anything for three more weeks. Since this is a child who skips/runs/jumps/gallops and almost never walks, good vibes, prayers, positive thoughts appreciated. ).5I could not get this on over the cast. But Amazon customer service is great! The quality of this product is excellent. Strong rubber, looks to be very substantial and will not rip easily. However, even after very very carefully reading the instructions on the DryPro website to make sure I was measuring correctly, and measuring my daughter's good arm very very carefully, and ordering the correct size, I still cannot slide this on over her full-arm cast. I thought maybe I had measured wrong, so I tried it on her good arm and it fits perfectly. Snug around the bicep, comfortable, easy to pump the air out of it. Perfect. But I simply cannot stretch the opening big enough to pull it on over her cast! I had her lean against a wall while I tried to shove it onto her arm, but it will not go. So she's back to using a garbage bag with rubber bands. I will say that Amazon customer service was excellent regarding this matter. I tried to return it, but they told me it's not returnable because it's considered unsanitary. (The product description page does not say this anywhere, or I wouldn't have bought it knowing I couldn't return it.) However, they fully refunded my money and told me to keep the DryPro or donate it. So, 1 star for the accuracy of the measurement instructions on the DryPro website, but 5 stars for Amazon customer service. That averages to 3 stars. Hopefully you'll have better luck!3Don't hesitate. This is a summer saver!I followed commenter's suggestions of using Press and Seal wrap first. I didn't use sock and the cover stood up to ocean, pool and slip and slide. I have an averaged size 6yo with full cast and the small did the trick. According to website we should have used a medium, but when it arrived it was clearly way too big. I gave a 4 because after 2 weeks the valve popped out. We were able to put it back, but the hole was loosened and it fell out in the pool today. The cast stayed dry, but cover needs to be replaced. I don't fully "blame" the company because the six year old was opening the valve and must have pulled to hard, which caused it to pull out on the first place. I think it could be designed better to prevent valve from coming out, but overall this has saved our summer. 8 weeks in a cast in the summer in the northeast could have been miserable, but careful use of this cover has allowed our family to keep our daily schedule of pool and beach.4No sock, or Saran needed. This works great! This is so great!!! We did Not need Saran or a Sock. It was so easy! Then We swam, we really swam. My daughter broke her right arm June28th, 2016. This is the 4th cover we've tried! :/ We didn't wrap it with saran, or put a sock on first, as some have instructed. We just put it over her cast. She had a full arm cast for the first 3.5 weeks. When we got this one she was in a half cast (just below the elbow). She had got the new cast the day we got the Dry Pro in the mail. I had ordered the full arm small, & even though she has the smaller cast now it still worked PERFECTLY! I put the cover on the way it would have went over a full cast (around mid-upper arm) and we pumped out the air to her comfort (too tight isn't good) We were at the water park for 4.5 hours that day! We removed it mid day to eat. Her arm did sweat a little around the top and her fingers, but the cast was dry!!! She did have some dead skin around her arm coming off from her previous cast, we wiped it off with a wipe. Ta da! :) The cover stinks a little, like a balloon. No big deal. It works so well! I wish I'd have purchased it first! With the measurements do make sure you get the size to cover the cast. They have a size guide! :) One thing we thought to do, that I haven't seen mentioned, is we bought a friction stick (its a bit like deoderant, runners and swimmers use it between legs to prevent friction burning. It is a few dollars) We put it around her elbow to keep the cover from rubbing when she bends her arm. It works well. We made sure we followed instructions (very easy) and made certain the lip of the cover was smooth around her arm. We also made sure the wrinkles of the cover were gathered around the cast, and not her arm, before sucking the air out so it didn't pinch. She said it was comfortable (as it could be) :) She didn't feel it got too hot inside. If it felt warm she just stuck it in the Pool! It was 98 at the pool the first day. We have used it several times (showers, and baths too) since we got it, and everytime her cast is still dry! I would absolutely buy another one! (Hope I don't need to-;) )5Amazing cast cover, Highly recommendedI don't usually review products on Amazon, however I felt obligated to do so after this cast cover literally saved our vacation. Our 6yr old daughter broke her arm and required pins literally 2 weeks before our cruise. This meant that she couldn't have a waterproof cast put on and cancelling our vacation would have cost us thousands. She has a FULL ARM cast to her shoulder and we purchased 2 of these covers just in case. After using it NUMEROUS times, we still have not touched the 2nd one. Not a DROP of water got into her cast after swimming in the pools and ocean for 10 days. Numerous showers in between. If you read that someone had issues with leaking, they either didn't put the cover on properly or they punctured it somehow. Our daughter had an absolute blast and we couldn't be happier that she didn't miss in any fun while on this trip, all thanks to this cast cover. We had number of people comment how they wish they had something like this when they broke their arm, and how they've never seen anything like it. It's brilliant.5Really works!!! Read the tips!!This really works!!! Read tips!!This is an incredible product! We were able to enjoy a water park and a weekend at the lake! My son had both a full arm, then half arm cast and time after time it protected it from the water. We didnt intentionally submerge it, but if it happened by accident we were comfortable knowing he would stay dry.Tips: measure the arm or leg for sizing, the seal around the limb is crucial to it working properly (MEASURE THE UPPER PART OF THE LIMB, NOT THE CAST ITSELF!!!). We found the "press n seal wrap" and bandage tip from another amazon user VERY helpful. First we wrapped the entire cast in glad press n' seal wrap (its sticky so watch skin and arm hairs), we did this just in case some moisture made it through (it never did but my mama heart felt better). Second, on the jagged top and bottom portions of the cast, we protected the waterproof sleeve by wrapping sports bandages on these jagged parts. It was good we did this as the sharp edges of the cast could have potentially ripped the sleeve. The first time we pumped the air out quickly my son found some discomfort (he is reeeeaaalllyy sensitive) due to the change of pressure inside the sleeve, we found that if we pumped slowly it resolved this problem. It would be helpful to have two people to help position the sleve. The rubber is heavy duty and prying the opening of the sleeve wide enough to fit the cast took some effort and a second set of helping hands was useful. Lastly, the pump nozzle pokes out quite a bit even after the pumping bulb is removed for use. I took another strip of press n seal, or sports bandage and bandaged it flat on top of the sleeve to minimize interference from it protruding out into someone else, or my kid's armpit. This is a phenomenal product!!!5Abnormally Large & SmallI originally purchased the size small based off measurements or my 4 year old son who broke his elbow and had a full (90 degree) cast up to ~2 inches below his armpit. I understand that it needs to be tight in order to keep the water out, but there was no way possible we could get the opening of the cast cover over the elbow portion of his cast. We had a smooth tube sock on his cast that we cut the toes off of so it would slide on easier. We then ordered the size medium thinking it'd be better and it did fit up to the top of his cast, but the coverage part was GIGANTIC and the excess material hung down to his knees. (It fit me in length and I still had extra material). With the size medium we also couldn't use the pump to pump the air out because it was too loose against his arm then and when he'd move you'd hear the air that we were able to suck out of it start filling in again. Thankfully we purchased another similar product (also on Amazon but without the pump) and it's much more realistic in sizing (length and arm opening) for a child.1
