Lie down to read, watch TV, or check your phone... I had been wanting to purchase these for quite some time, but decided to bite the bullet one morning after I woke up with extreme neck pain from a late night of reading with my head arched up on a pillow. They work just as I expected. I don t have to use a pillow to read. They fit pretty well and the earpieces don t pinch. Once they are on, it only takes a little while to adjust how to hold the book/tablet/craft in order to see and not strain any muscles. There are a couple of things that made them drop a star. One is the weight. I do understand that there is glass, and that it makes it heavy, but over time, I will get a little sore spot on the bridge of my nose if I wear them too long. One way I alleviate the weight on my nose is to position the top part of the glasses to the spot between my eyebrows. It does take a little getting used to, but it works for me.The second thing is that there is a slight gap in vision in between the lenses. My brain mostly make up the difference and ignores it, and I am not even sure if there is a way to remedy that anyway. But, it is noticeable if I pay attention to it (and my book isn t holding my attention).Overall-I am glad I have them. I use them almost nightly to read, check the weather or my emails on my phone or tablet...even watch TV. 4prevents neck pain Great for my husband who spends a lot of time on his back because of back pain. Relieves the stress on his neck while trying to read. They are a bit heavy, there is no peripheral vision, and the center vision between the two eyes is a bit weird, but I don't know how else it could be done. Way better than craning your neck. 5Work great and well made. I am very surprised by the quality of these horizontal reading and tv watching glasses. The frames are well-built and it seems like they will last a long time. The clarity of the prismatic mirror that allows you to see horizontally (or straight down if you are standing) is very clear. It is almost worth the price just to wear these and try to walk around, navigating while only seeing the floor or ground beneath you. Good product that I am using after eye surgery that requires me to lie flat on my back for a few days. I will be able to watch a little TV with the non-surgical eye and look at my phone without holding it up in the air! 5A game changer, but not without flaw. These are life-changers. Bought a pair when I hurt my back so I could lay down flat and read, but I've continued to use them since my back got better. Makes reading in bed or even using your laptop or phone in bed much more comfortable. Only thing I don't like about them is that the part that goes over your hear is really tight on my head, and can actually start to hurt after a little while. I think they could stand to make them less tight, especially considering that you're meant to wear these in bed, so it's not like they're going anywhere. They also can make text seem further away, so you sometimes have to hold your book up closer to your head than you usually would. I also wish they didn't have the little windows in the side of them, because they can let lamp light in and it can be kind of distracting. 4Who knew that I needed an invention like this? Who knew that I needed an invention like this? Not me. Sometimes I can get serious neck pain from tilting my head down to read a book in my lap, so I might try shifting positions or holding the book up higher or something like that. But nothing has worked like these glasses: I can now lie flat on my bed or sofa while comfortably reading a book in my lap. Talk about relaxing! And these glasses fit great whether I'm wearing contacts or reading glasses. The only downside is that they do have a tendency to slip off my face if I'm sitting upright trying to look down at something, so I pretty much only use them while lying down. 5Avoid Neck Pain My wife has neck problems. I noticed her propping up her head on multiple pillows to read her Kindle and watch tv. I bought these for her after finding them on Amazon. She tried these out last night and loves them. One could consider these a health maintenance item. These are not just a gimmick, they are a functional health device. I just bought another one for myself. 5Eh... Why did I buy these? My back was hurting and I wanted to be able to lay down flat in bed while watching tv or reading. I guess it worked decent enough. There is visibly a split in your vision when using the product, but it s not so distracting that you can t ignore it. They re also heavier than I would have expected. Made the ridge of my nose hurt after a while. They re not comfortable to wear at all. Here s the truth: good thing I live alone because I m sure I look completely ridiculous wearing these, but it did solve a short term problem. Basically I wouldn t return these but I doubt buying them was worth the money. Unless there is a serious medical need for having them I wouldn t recommended purchasing. 3these are miraculous updated: downgrading one star because i used these to read last night and found that a white line goes down the middle of your eyeview making it difficult to read. it's the side of the inside of one of the lenses, it creates a line down the middle of whatever you're reading. i still think they're cool and am keeping them, but i can't really use them to read for long periods of time. old: these things are nothing short of miraculous. i never knew something like this existed, then i saw an ad, googled horizontal glasses and found these. they are heavy but a NICE heavy, not too heavy, a quality heavy but not too much for my head so far. i first put them on and walked around in my apartment screaming "oh my god!" the view is so bizarre, let me not spoil it for you, just try it when you get it. crystal clear lenses. then i lied down and looked at a book and could not believe it - i could keep my head back and see the book crystal clear while my neck was super comfortable, leaning back on the sofa!! it's not a magnifier in any way but i could see perfectly. this is just one of those little inventions that is cheap but kind of changes your life. i've only had it for a few minutes and was so enthused i wrote a review right away, but if anything changes you will see me update this, and i do remember to update if something goes south. so far, amazing. 4An ok buy, construction issues in prism section Solid design and it functions. The issues are that it has a strong plastic smell that makes me a bit nauseous (I assume that'll go away relatively quickly). and that the prism section is noticeably cheap (makes sense at this price). The seems on the prism are large and straight through the middle of your sight. The construction of it also means you will see a constant, partial reflection next to whatever your seeing. These things seem to combine into an uncomfortable feeling if used for more than a brief stint. They are ok and overall they work, it just doesn't work cleanly, if that makes sense. 3They work, but not flawlessly. Every night I lay in bed and peruse a few things on my iPad - maybe browse the internet, maybe watch a few youTube videos - before going to bed. I don't like propping my head up at right angles, it's uncomfortable, so got these to see what I thought. On the plus side, they work. You can lay VERY comfortably on your back with your iPad sitting on your chest or stomach and watch videos or read web pages. It takes a while to get used to touching the screen since it's no longer where you expect it to be.All is not roses though. The field of vision is limited - somewhat like what I imagine tunnel vision would be like. It's big enough, though, that my iPad screen is completely visible, so this is not an issue for me.The image you see is a little funny though, sort of what you would expect if you were looking through prisms. There is a noticeable dividing line between the two eyes which you do get used to after a bit, but there are also issues with focus around the edges, though this could be due to my eyeglasses.Regular eyeglasses will fit under these, but they are heavy and if you don't get them situated just so, your nose will finally start to complain - at least mine has at times - as has the orbit around my eyes if I have them pushing down too hard on my glasses. In other words, you have to get them situated properly or you will end up with discomfort. The reason I gave these four stars instead of three is that I've been using these virtually every night since I purchased them in spite of the issues. Not having to prop my head up, being able to lay flat on my back and enjoy browsing on my iPad in the evening trumps the oddities and inconveniences these have.My wife thinks I look like the biggest geek that ever existed when I'm laying in bed with these on, so there's that too. 4
