Nicely Made - Need High Topped Shoes or BootsI had great hopes for this lift. I lost 1 1/2 inches in one leg after having the hip replaced. This has caused a broken toe, a pulled groin muscle, and other problems, so it is imperative I find a lift. (Trying to avoid the $50+ cost of a one raised shoe).It is impossible to wear the full 1 1/2 inches needed in any shoe because it causes too high a back and my foot will not stay in the shoe. I did try using only the smaller piece (not recommended by manufacturer). It has raised spots so it can fit into the other half of the lift. But with using just this piece, my foot stayed in the shoe and the increase in height actually helped (guess it is not as important to get a full replacement, just enough to help one walk better, without loosing your footage, or popping out of the shoe). Only problem are those raised dots - they hurt the foot if worn too long.I don't want to completely disparage this lift. In a boot or similar high back shoe I bet they work wonders. 3Top notch! Great price.Comfortable and gave me and extra inch. Another surprising supplement was that is actually made my shoes MORE Comfortable because it's provides a bouncy cushion for my feet. Love these. 5Bought for my wife who due to a broken femur ...Bought for my wife who due to a broken femur ended up with one leg shorter than the other... it's been a big help in her stride... 5They do work, but only with very specific shoe styles (Uggs, for example)I know, I know I should just overcome vanity and embrace my shortness, but there are times that I feel awkward wearing flats while my 6 2 husband towers over me. These inserts do work, but only with certain shoe styles. Remember, your foot is going to be sitting higher in the shoe and your instep will be pushed up against the top of the shoe, which can be very uncomfortable. These will work best with an unstructured shoe (Ugg boots, for example). If the shoe has a narrow heel the insert may not fit.How they work:The heel is made of a hard rubbery material and is approx. 1-1/2 in height. You can snap on another piece which will add an additional . You cannot trim or adjust the width of the heel portion of the insert. The front part of the insert is made of a spongy material and can be trimmed to fit your shoe. That s pretty much it trim them to fit your shoe then insert them.Verdict:These do work, but only with very specific shoe styles. I wear them in my Uggs and similar styled boots. If you decide to wear the full 2 insert you may feel a little awkward until you get used to them. I don t find them uncomfortable, and I do like the little extra height I get from them, but their usefulness is limited since they can only be worn with a very limited type of shoe. 3One Stardefective and amazon would not replace it 1Not to be confused with insolesGot these on a whim for a costume to try and add a few inches of height. The ones I got fit perfectly, but because the heels are so high they can be annoying to use and will certainly be somewhat painful if you're using tighter footwear such as boots. 3A kiss for my foot!!Have used Dr provided lifts for years, never quite right. Left leg 1/4 " shorter due to staph infection that destroyed some bone. This lift is amazing! Using just one part , I am able to equalize my leg heights& no longer wobble like a weeble!! Superb quality, give but not squishy, comfy but supportive. Walked around NYC at Christmas with grandkids- no problems. Forgot I had foot problem. Don't anymore thanks to this lift. Fits my sneakers& dress boots as well! 5They work but can hurt.Bought these on a whim and I've worn them 3-4 times. I'm still on the fence, though. You absolutely need to wear them in boots. I'm a 9.5, standard width and have tried these in sneakers, chukka boots and combat-style boots. First off, don't count on these working in sneakers unless you've got high-tops with some serious space. In the chukka boots, they worked ok but I couldn't use the addition piece. In the combat-style boots they worked much better. I still couldn't use the extra height addition but I was able to loosen the laces enough so they weren't uncomfortable to wear. I'm sure I'll use these again but I may consider buying shoes a half size up and/or in wider size. 3My second pair!Fits well and comfortable enough for me to buy this for my other pair of shoes. This is great compared to the half-piece type because the latter tend to s*** around not being fitted by the shoe's interior. Also, I bought these as "add-on" item so can't beat the price. They came with attachment for extra (full) height, but I didn't use them - nice to have the options though. 5A two for one deal (sort of).This is the second pair of "height increasors" that I've bought and I like this pair better than my first choice (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G9FJ8NA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1). With these, while they're a bit too tall to use both parts together, the full length innersoles offer a modest and comfortable height increase and the wedges could be used in some other shoes making these sort of a two for one deal. 5
