I bought this for use with a mouse because I ...I bought this for use with a mouse because I was getting a lot of pain at the base of my boney palm/pisiform from resting the area on the hard table while using the mouse. I was hoping this would cushion the area. I have to track back and forth across 4 screens yet still be able to perform fine/detailed mouse motions. So I generally need more table/mouse space than is covered by most mouse pads. Unfortunately, the padding falls more at the base of the center of my palm (not the boney part) making it almost impossible to still use the mouse in any ergonomic way (maybe I have small hands and too big a mouse but it is work issued). I tried to use it by not using the thumb hole and rotating the whole thing to cover the outer part of my hand but I wound up with more pain/strain. Recently I've taken to just placing the glove on the table and resting my wrist on it when I can. 3Looks good in theory but no so much in practice...This is a great idea, but doesn't work so well on the follow-through. I found these too uncomfortable to use while working on the computer because the microbeads that are meant to support your wrist while using the mouse are located more toward the palm area. So unless you have really long fingers, you're probably going to find that it puts MORE strain on your wrist because of the awkward angle you have to hold the mouse while wearing it. One of the few plusses on this glove is that he material it's made of is soft but still gives the support/light compression you need. But that is rendered almost useless by the second big drawback on this glove - the material they've used to hem it - it has absolutely no give to it whatsoever. So, if any of the openings is larger than your hand or arm, it does not contract of a secure fit - you just have a big gape there. Likewise, if it is too tight in any of those areas, it feels like someone has tied a tight band there, cutting off the circulation. Neither scenario makes for a comfortable fit. The only reason I didn't return this item is because it would've been almost more than I paid for it to do so. I've kept it and am using it at night to support my wrist so I don't hyperflex it. It's ok for that use, but not the what it's advertised. So for that use and the super-soft material, it gets two stars. 2Perfect for Computer UseI LOVE this wrist splint. I have mild carpal tunnel & my doctor suggested ordering a wrist splint. Well I figured out that most of my hand pain comes from using my laptop & my mouse. This splint works PERFECT for computer related wrist/hand pain. The balls in the palm are really nice & the splint part is flexible but still keeps your wrist from retracting too far. It appears as though this wrist splint can be used for either right or left hands because the splint part can come out of a little hole (which I assume is used for removing it when you're read to wash it or if you want to switch it over to the left hand), so you just have to turn it inside out basically. Please be advised though, this really only helps with computers. I tried using it in one of my classes the other day & it doesn't allow me to write very well. So if you plan on using this wrist splint with someone else besides computers, then I suggest you get a different wrist splint. & the measurements are practically right on. Mine was like borderline small & medium at 1 part so I went with the medium size which fit me perfectly. I liked this glove so much that I bought another for my left hand. 5works great! definitely recommendworks great! definitely recommend. Has helped my wrist and forearm pain in just a few weeks. felt relief instantly. I wear it all the time now. immediately notice if i don't have it close by.4 stars only because the "pillow" in the palm goes up the hand too much getting too close to the fingers and so it gets in the way of moving the mouse. After 2 weeks i still haven't adjusted to holding the mouse with the tops of my fingers. Maybe my fingers are just short. I"m getting used to it tho. It has really slowed me down in the interim.I like it though and i do recommend this product. 4Runs largeI can't give a totally accurate review right now because I ordered a small, based on measurements, and it's actually large and loose on me. (I usually use a medium in gloves due to my long fingers.) So while I get some benefit from the padded palm, it's loose and offers me zero support as a result. I've ordered an X-small now and will have to wait to see how that works. Don't order a size based on what you "usually" take. Look on the manufacturer's web site and measure. If you are close to the lower end of a size, order one down. This is not a "stiff" carpal tunnel brace. The included stay rides along the top of your hand, instead of along the bottom, and is very fexible. This is more a "helps prevent issues" kind of device than it is one to help alleviate pain if you already have it.Bonuses: it is very flexible, so doesn't impede typing like the firmer types of neoprene braces (I have two by McDavid) can. Palm pad of beads (I have two of the wrist pads by them as well and love them) is very comfortable.Cons: Not a lot of bracing if you already have a lot of pain and need the firm stability. 4Gets the job doneThe feeling at first is a little hard to get used to, with the pouch of beads at the base of your palm. But I really liked them, because it helped keep my wrist steady and I could use my other hand to work them around to massage my wrist a bit. I never felt like my hand or arm was getting too hot, the material seems to breathe. The brace on the back is perfect, its stiff, but doesn't hinder your regular movement too much. I've been using this regularly at work, and that's been enough to ease any inflammation and pain from using a keyboard and mouse all day. My only negative feeling towards it is that the fabric that goes between my thumb and index finger chafes the skin there and is really irritating after using it for long. 4OK, but needs some improvements. It's OK, could use some adjustments.Pros:- Does what it says, cushions the wrist, no pain/fatigue when using a mouse while wearing it.- ReversibleCons:- Too many cushion beads, made it difficult to grasp a mouse as they would float into the palm of the hand on the glove, rather than stay towards the wrist.- The seam around the thumb comes together directly where your skin of the thumb pulls from the palm, making that irritated/uncomfortable, the seam should be above the thumb.I cut mine open and removed about half of the beads and sewed it back up so I can now grasp a mouse properly while wearing it. 3Too smallMy wife has very small wrists, leading to carpal tunnel condition. We ordered two. Opened one. Holy cow. Uncomfortably extra small. Tried to return for a larger size. Apparently there is a zero return policy. Otherwise, we would give the item a five. My wife has worn an identical one made by IMAK under a third party label for ten years and swears by these. Some genius decided to combine carpal tunnel therapy with compression therapy for other conditions and messed the whole thing up. Regrettably, we will probably end to throwing these away and buying up a size or two, notwithstanding our negative review. 2So far, so good!I just received my glove today, and so far it's great! First of all, I ordered it the 19th, it shipped the 20th, and I got it on the 22nd! And this is with free shipping! Also, people are saying the measurements are hard to get right, and this was making me hesitant to get it at first, but it's so easy! Just follow the directions, use an actually ruler, or measuring tape (I used measuring tape), and use the guide to decide what size you should get, it's easy, just don't over complicate it.Another thing to keep in mind, is this is NOT a brace, it is not meant to restrict your wrist, it's meant to give it support, some people have been giving bad reviews on these wrist support gloves because they were assuming it was a brace. I just got it, and already I can feel the difference, it fits perfect, it puts just the perfect amount of pressure on my wrist, and the flexible plate gives it just the perfect amount of support, my wrist feels much better already. I'm using it right now to type this review, I'm using it with my laptop, and it's supporting my wrist just enough so that it's not bending in an awkward position, it keeps your wrist in the ideal position.Another benefit to this is it doesn't look bad at all, most of these wrist supports look like you got it right from a doctors office, and they have all kinds of straps and stuff, this is just a glove that slides on, it's stretchy, so there are no straps, clamps, or Velcro of any kind! And from first glance it looks like it could just be worn for style, I am definitely glad I got this, and if it really helps get rid of my wrist pain, I will definitely recommend it! 5The purchase of my first IMAK smart glove was spurred on by the loss of feeling ...I've bought three others of these over the years and they're still going strong (After almost 11 years of use actually). They do their job well as long as you bother to wear them when using your computer. The purchase of my first IMAK smart glove was spurred on by the loss of feeling in the tips of my left thumb and index finger along with associated carpel tunnel wrist pain. After using the glove for 3 months straight, the feeling came back in my fingertips and the wrist pain subsided well before that. These *work*. And they protect from further injury as long as you wear them.I bought this one, as I was away from home for an extended period and discovered I really should have brought one with me. So now I have 4. I do not regret this purchase one bit. :)Know your usual glove size and bear in mind that you want these to fit snug, not loose. 5
