True to size, air valve not as picturedWhen I got this out of the box, I thought it was too large - I had a short walking boot that wasn't providing a lot of support, but THIS looked very big.I'd read that the larger ones give better support than the short boot, and whoever wrote this was right.It took a bit of attention to figure out the best ways to put this one and take it off -- tip- when you remove each strap, fold it over itself so the velcro sticks to the strap - and not to the boot fabric. It makes it much easier to keep the straps separate and to get the strap through the connector (?).I originally had an issue with the air release valve -- in the photo, it looks as if this is a valve that you turn, in order to release the air. In my boot, it's not. There's a black plastic cap that snaps over the actual valve, to protect it from being accidentally pressed. I had to look closely to see this. Now, when I want to reduce the amount of air in the boot, I pop the cap open and press on the valve. Air release is slow and fairly easy to control.My weak or torn ankle ligaments don't hurt much (if at all) when I wear this boot. It's somewhat uncomfortable if I try to sleep in it, so I usually take it off (probably against medical advice) when I'm sleeping.There's another possible issue - the plastic slots that the straps go through are attached to the boot. This is good. I have visions of these slots cracking or breaking - but this probably WON'T happen as long as I use the boot - it's just a potential weak point. OTOH, my other boot has straps with a slot on one end - Velcro holds to strap to the boot. If the velcro weakens with time, the entire strap could disappear. I much prefer the way the slots are attached to this boot.All in all, I like this boot. I'm sorry that I need it. But, while I DO need it, I'm confident in thinking that it'll serve me well. 5Great boot. Some fit considerationsThis boot is exactly the same as my podiatrist prescribed me and costs SEVEN times less. As soon as I am wearing this boot for three months, at some point liner became worn out and I bought Mars Wellness boots. I bought two (small and medium) for sizing. According to the boot description I'm supposed to wear MEDIUM size. I'm woman, 5'6" tall, shoe size is 9.5 or 10, wide width, legs are more or less skinny. Size small boot: the length of my foot is a little bit smaller that the length of the sole of the boot, liner fully covers toes. The height of the boot with liner is 16 inches. Size medium: The length of my foot is more that an inch smaller than boot's sole, the height of the boot is a little more than 17 inches. The height was the main reason why I did not choose size medium as the medium size boot is tall for me and touches the back of my knee. The width of the liner is very generous and will fit wide and big leg. Also I placed a piece of welcro at the end of all straps so the straps do not hurt fingers when unfastening the boot 5Great price and lightweight.I got this boot to replace the one they put on me at the hospital, that was too big and heavy. This boot is very lightweight and comfortable. It fit very well. I have a shoe size of an 8 and the small fit perfect to my shoe size. I would recommend this to anyone having surgery on their foot/ankle. 5Did what it is supposed to do.I was acting my age, 62, while shopping one day. I stepped down to descend a flight of step--well, a flight of steps is a stretch as there was only one step of about 6" in height, but I certainly took flight, a flight that lasted about half a second to the floor. I heard it, felt it, and immediately knew my ankle was broken. I ordered this stabilizer from Amazon and used it through completion of healing. It cost $42, about 10% of what I would have paid at an emergency room. I highly recommend. 5A lifesaverI recently purchased this on the advice of my orthopedist after getting stepped on by my horse 2 months ago. Foot not broken but a lot of soft tissue damage. I was able to walk fairly well as soon as I put this on. After a few weeks, I was able to walk with no pain at all. Still using it. The only problem I had was that it didn't come with instructions. I had to look for You tube videos of similar products. It includes extra pads that I didn't know what to do with. I also didn't know about pushing the red button to fill with after strapping it on 5Great until the valve stopped workingThis worked perfectly at first, but after three weeks of wearing it with three weeks to go, the valve stopped working so the air won't stay in.I wear an 8-8.5 so I bought a medium. I realized quickly that I should have gone with a small, but being able to inflate the boot made it work anyway. Now my foot and ankle are no longer supported and my foot actually rises out of the boot when I walk. I can't afford another and it's a little hard to return when I don't have another to wear in the meantime.Not a happy customer at all. :( 1Beware of the backside of the pumpFoot print is much larger than other brands, makes it clunky, diminishes ease of walking a tiny bit, but not too badly. Biggest complaint is the red bulb that pumps up the airbag. The back of the pump is a hard material that is positioned directly over the shin-bone. I had to create a pad with bubble wrap and wash cloth which works fine. But I'm a man and my pants leg covers the bulkiness of the leg; women probably aren't going to like the massiveness of the solution. I've used another brand of boot w/o the air bag w/o any problem, so why the airbag? Otherwise, it is comfortable to use and does what it's supposed to do.Oh, and the size is true to the shoe size. I'd read someone's comment that they ran small... Not so, I ordered based on that and had to return it for the proper size. 3Fantastic Deal + Some AdviceOur orthopedist recommended purchasing our daughters boot on Amazon instead of at the hospital. $490 at hospital or Amazon s more reasonable price. Easy decision since it was the exact same model. It worked great!!** Note - These boot soles will leave marks on hardwood floors. So we bought shoe covers like realtors use for open houses, which my daughter would put on when she came home from school. They have disposable covers & more durable multiple use, which we used. 5Good quality, and well built itemGood quality, and well built item. I am prone to stress fractures in my feet, and have used many orthopedic boots. My foot re-fractured because my podiatrist had given me an Aircast 2 piece boot. I hated it and didn't wear it as long as I should have. The straps feed through the plastic on this one, so there isn't glue to wear off. The air bladders are positioned well to secure your foot and calf.The only reason this boot got a 4 star from me is because initially, the pump ball backing rubs on your leg. It lasted for the first 3 days or so. Otherwise, for cost and product quality, it would have been 5 stars all day long. 4Best bootBoot is super comfy I love it, its vey well made and doesnt feel cheap at all, its very sturdy and it feel like it has memories foam super confy . It secures your foot & leg good ... I got size S in womans and it fit good ,you cant see my toes cuz it has alittle more wiggle space which is good... I wear 7 shoes size in woman and in men i wear 4 1/2 -5..Peefect and the price is on point...the only big oroblem I was was with my carrier..I payed for 2 day shipping and my stupid usps carrier delivers in 4 days it would of been 5 days in total but i drove around my area and found my carrier..amazon was very good to me in giving me back my shipping...in all i highky recomend this boot 5
