Customer Reviews

Worked well, but broke after about 10 usesI like that these stay in place and they definitely gave me support for my knees while playing volleyball. I noticed that they started to feel a little uncomfortable and when I looked at them the interior parts of both left and right bands, upper and lower, had small holes where the support members are located (see pictures). These support members then could scrape against my skin, not feeling great. I think they work well, but any knee strap should be able to last more than ten uses. 2I used these for about a month here and there ...I used these for about a month here and there, and then went back to taping. I think these would work well for someone wanting something they don't have to pull over their leg to put on, and something to wear only when exercising or other short term use. I think they are not meant to be worn under pants either. I tried these for work and they had to be adjusted a lot. The velcrow didn't last long either and there was no backup way to close these. Also, the lining in the back has seams that irritated my skin and the seams were unbearably itchy. I had to wrap cotton padding on them to wear them and that defeated the purpose of having a lower profile knee brace. I don't really see the point of putting on a sleeve and then these on top, and the model isn't wearing a sleeve either. Also, I thought they were much thicker then necessary on the top. Overall these didn't work for me. 3Good for knee pains.I'm on my feet at work for 8 to 12 hours a day, I use this for when my knees start to ache. I used to use a wrap but this is much easier. The one thing I was not expecting is that there is a small rounded "bar" in the upper and lower bands that helps stabilize your knee. Though it is nice it takes a little getting used to, but after a while its easy to forget they are there. The material on the backside that rubs against the back of your knee could be a little softer, as it was almost an instant irritation. 4Great until mid-shift.First off, this strap works, I have tight upper thigh muscles pulling on my patella and this brace helped out a great deal, however, what makes it functional as a stabilizer and unique to it, the rubbery teeth on the inside that provide lateral support to the patella, is both a blessing and a curse. It worked great and felt great for the first 4 hours of my shift, then it became more and more uncomfortable until hour 8 where it had to come off and left me in severe pain. I readjusted the it but it was not as effective. I work 12 hour hospital shifts and would not wear this again for another shift, I will keep it for shorter tasks.TL:DR to be effective it requires pressure, that pressure makes it literally too painful for long periods of time, however for under 4 hours I highly suggest this strap. 4Too stretchyI lost my Cho-pat knee strap and really didn't want to pay the high price again, so I decided to try the Mueller. It's not like this one is super cheap either, so I thought it would be of decent quality. But this one is a lot stretchier than the Cho-Pat and doesn't feel as supportive. I had to tighten the straps super tight for it to even feel like it was compressing my knee at all, and then the back of my leg was numb. You get what you pay for, I guess. 2Great fit for "massive" thighs; very effective.I have some non-specific pain/ache in my left knee, probably due to overuse/runner's knee or just age [I'm an older guy]. My knee responds well to an "Ace" bandage wrap, so I wanted to try something more convenient. So, I ordered this Mueller "Max Knee Strap" as well as the Mueller "moderate" Elastic Knee Brace [size LG/XL], both from Amazon. Both knee braces provide enough compression and/or stability to relieve my pain. However, this one-size-fits-all Max Knee Strap has more adjustment above the knee, so it is more comfortable to wear throughout the day. My thigh, at 2 inches above the knee, measures about 21 inches, which is fine for this Max Knee Strap, but at the extreme limit for Mueller's Elastic Knee Brace.I don't use this Knee Strap while actually exercising [I've taken up rowing on a Concept2 Model D] because I don't need the support for that activity. But, I've been using this both before and after, with great results [minimal or no knee pain]. A good product that works well, and it's a snap [or a velcro pull] to put on or take off, or adjust.EDITED, Oct 2018: I've had the "one size" Max Knee Strap for about 5 years now--still works great--and just now got the "Large/X-Large" size [so I'd have an extra as a back-up]. Comparing them side-by-side, the original "one size" and the current "Large/X-Large" are identical in every dimension, and also identical in materials, construction, stitching, etc. So, unless you need/want the "Small/Medium," suggest you get the cheaper of the "One Size" and the "Large/X-Large." 5Rough stitching makes it not so greatI purchased two of these - the Mueller and another one from a big box retailer. They both serve the same purpose, do the same job, but I prefer the other one because the Mueller knee strap has rough stitching on the inside where it rubs on the back of my knee. Maybe I'm sensitive, or maybe rough stitching on tender skin is a dumb idea. Anyway, it works, but it's also pretty miserable. It's a medical device so you can't return it, heads up. YMMV. 3This Knee Strap has turned back the clock for me in skiing.. The Best..I never write reviews but this product is it.. I just returned from our home in Jackson,Wy where I skied for another 8 days in a row.. I have had a patellar tendon issue(skiers knee) since I was 20 yrs old because of skiing too many moguls as a kid. Rehab never helped.. I decided to buy this knee strap with the compression on top and bottom instead of only the bottom below the knee after trying so many other braces that never work.. THIS PRODUCT IS THE BEST... I never once experienced any knee pain while skiing or after skiing like for years.. I was able to ski all day(Steeps, trees, powder & even moguls but not a lot). This was the first time in 30 yrs I never worried or felt any pain in my right knee.. Ski Patrol, Instructors and others were amazed by such a simple device that could help so much.. Please believe me on this.. I know everyones issues are different but this has turned back the clock for me in skiing.. I can't wait to go back up to Jackson in 3 weeks.. Thank Mueller... 5They work!Bought two of these to help with arthritic knees. I was originally using the one strap that goes under the knee cap. Those helped for a couple months, but the pain came back. These seem to take some pressure of my quad pressing down on my knee joints. I've used them for a couple of months now for walking and snowboard, and some light jogging. My knees don't seem to get as sore or as swollen as before, and I find that I don't have to ice as much as I used to.The only negative is that once these are used a few times, they stretch out a bit. So sometimes, they slide down a bit. It has gotten a bit harder finding the sweet spot of tightening these - it's either too much and I'm cutting off circulation or too loose and they slide down. All in all, these didn't break the bank and I will continue to use them. 4Great brace for daily use, but side tubes should be removable.I tried a dozen other knee braces, compression sleeves and the like, before trying this one. This is the only one I kept. I have an older one from the drugstore with a lot more coverage and support which I use for sleep, but I needed something for walking during the day and this ended up being the one. The only problem I have with it is the small tubes on each side- they are horrible for me. They rub, chafe, and cause pain and irritation if I wear the brace for longer than a couple hours at a time. Since I need something to give me support and keep things in alignment all day. I m considering trying to remove the tubes myself, but it would ve been nice if they were removable to begin with. Otherwise, I m happy with the brace and glad I found it. 3
