Strong Without BitternessI had my first cup of this tea today and had to share my happiness. As Marie Kondo says: spark happiness. Well, that s what this tea did. I ve had to give up coffee. It was making my stomach cramp. This tea more than satisfies my caffeine longings. I love the taste. I had gradually weaned off coffee by turning to some very nice teas 4 star sold on Amazon. But I always knew that the tea was a poor substitute for my coffee craving. Now I won t feel like I m drinking a poor substitute. This is first class, 5 star tasting tea.5Finally found my perfect organic assamI've been drinking Twinings Bold & Mighty Assam and I love the flavor, but wanted a loose leaf and preferably organic. I tried 4 other loose leaf assams and finally this 5th attempt did the trick for me... my perfect cup of tea! It brews a little more quickly than I'm used to so if I forget about it and let it go over 4 mins it gets too strong for me, 3-4 mins seems perfect. It is indeed very strong and must have a high caffeine count because I do feel a bit nauseous from the caffeine if I have it on an empty stomach, but it does great for my wakeup ritual in the morning as well as an afternoon pick me up.5Organic assam is worth it. No more drinking pesticides.I make milk tea a lot but I noticed a chemical smell from the typical Memri assam tea from the local grocery store. I also started to feel sick and lethargic after drinking it and later learned that loose leaf assam tea tends to have a high pesticide count. So I looked for organic alternatives and this is the one I found on amazon. I been drinking it for two months now and let me say...you can taste the difference and no sick lethargic feeling afterwards too. A little goes a long way too. I used to buy full leaf assam (also available from Vahdam) but the CTC, which stands for Cut, Tear, Curl, works better in the Keurig because it needs less steep time. This tea has been exactly what I wanted. I will continue to use it and purchase more.The fact that it's organic was the bottom line for me. There was no chemical smell or taste. (I'm very sensitive to taste and smell)Overall, I am very pleased.5Baked sweet potato bliss The dry grains of this Organic CTC Assam are, predictably, not much to look at. They carry a mild basic malty aroma. When steeping, the aroma explodes into delicious baked sweet potato with a hint of light brown sugar! The liquor is a nice deep mahogany red. With a touch of cream, it looks almost like a light roast coffee and creates a smooth Werther's caramel aroma to go along with everything else. With raw sugar added the flavor goes in sync the aroma and this cup of tea goes off the charts for me. With or without adding spices it also makes incredibly delicious milk tea. It's never bitter and has enough caffeine for me to substitute my morning cup of joe. It's a good price too for bulk Organic Assam.Make it strong and sweet! Use two rounded teaspoons in 12 ounces of extremely hot water or 50/50 milk and water and (carefully) gently agitate it with a spoon for 4-5 minutes. Sweeten to taste. Try it with cream and a baby dash of cinnamon.I've gone ahead and stocked up for the year on this tea.5
