HelpfulI ordered this after I had an open compound fracture of my left great toe, it was nasty. Anyway, I went to the ER and was given this boot to go home in, but I was told that I needed to wear it "around the clock for at least three weeks." It should be standard that anything they think should be worn around the clock, that a patient receive two of... Let's just say the idea of wearing it outside, inside my house, and also in my bed, grossed me out so much that I couldn't do it. My pain levels increased, and finally, I decided to order this. I was pleased that this boot is the EXACT one I received from the hospital. These are not meant to be worn for long, so they are not of the highest quality, in fact, the elastic started to go in the first one within three weeks (I used a safety pin to help keep it closed, but I also walk A LOT). I think my second boot lasted longer, it was worn mostly to bed, but I will hold onto that one because there is always a chance I may require it again (let's all hope not). I would recommend this product if you have a fractured toe, it was almost level with my Sketchers memory foam shoe, which helped relieve my back from being unevenly positioned for long periods. I also think that this boot could support other injuries as well, I am not a doctor, but I did notice that when my ankle was bothering me, it almost reminded me to take it easy (an ace wrap could have done the same thing I do suppose). Anyway, I am satisfied with this product. I wear a 8.5 in women's shoes, and ordered a small (based on what the hospital gave me), and I found that my big toe was exactly where it would have been in a shoe, close to the tip. This is recommended for healing so that you don't trip over the excess at the end of the shoe. 4Men's S is perfect for Women's 8.5-9Big thanks to the woman who showed pictures of each size. Took her advice and ordered the small. I wear W 8.5 to 9 and it is perfect. Still have a good 1/2 inch to the end for protection. The velco is good quality and both straps offer a lot of adjustment. Took one star off the comfort for the ankle strap being minorly uncomfortable without a crew sock. Bottom is very stiff and supportive and isn t slippery. It is much easier to put on and wear around the house compared to my full, tall aircast. Should be able to drive with it, too. 5Easy to Put On & Good for Transition from High BootI ve been looking for something to help the transition between boot and shoe for a stress-fractured foot without paying an exhorbitant amount of money for specially built shoes. These are built well enough, but the sizing and trying to figure out what to buy was NOT easy! All kinds of different and opposing answers to my question. I was worried because I wear W8 aso in the middle of sizing but I went with the small and it fits well, my big toe has about to the end. The ankle strap gives some extra support and there is a VERY slight rocker on the heel. They are easy to put on and don t annoy my fracture. I ve walked in them a bit; so far, so good! 4Small fits up to ladies 9This item saved me when I broke a toe while moving house. I wear an 8 1/2 to 9 ladies wide, and the medium plus FAR too large. Had to re-order the small to be able to walk & drive in it. Saved stubbing & most flexion. Reversible for either foot. 5Happier Feet!I broke my toe. This is the second time. I had this surgical bootie thing from the ER. I can't stand the weight of the blanket on my toe, and now as it heals my toe has spasms trying to move. Welp, doc said that's no good I gotta be in a boot. I can't stand wearing a boot while at home. This shoe is a game changer. Like another reviewer said, I can now sleep, this is much more comfortable to sleep in. Keeps the blanket off my toe with the square shape. I wouldn't recommend for a walking shoe per se. I do think a regular boot is more comfortable. But around the house when you are first healing and just need to be able to balance . . . this is an awesome option. I'm not necessarily walking all over the house but I can stand in the kitchen and chop veggies, cook dinner, stand at the washing machine and do laundry. Around the house with my kneeling scooter, this also protects my foot from wall bumps or the dog bumping my foot. Great as an indoor alternative to the boot unless your ankle needs to be stabilized too. This is really just good for toe stuff. It does not keep your ankle from moving. Totally fair price, and so much better for getting around the house. 590% PerfectThis has been the Cadillac of post OP shoes so far. I've tried many shoes, either from website or the doctor's office and so far this has been my favorite. I broke my "great toe" (big toe- apparently the worst to break) andI am huge fan of the large toe box, whether or not it is a purposeful design, I work in a restaurant and I live a busy life with two kids and sometimes smashing my toe into things happens- more times than not. The wide toe box keeps my toe safe. Its comfortable to walk in and relax in. The foam on the inside isn't too soft so your foot doesnt move a lot but it also doesn't feel like you are standing on a rock I have ever intention of purchasing another for strictly in house vs outside and work useI only have two complaints:The straps over the toes could be just a little tighter. There isn'y anything that lets you really adjust the length of the strap, just cover maneuvering. The second: the foam pad came out, it went right back in and didn't seem to effect the shoe but still it came out. 4Firm Sole but Well Cushioned!VERY Comfortable for my 5th metatarsal break - firm sole but well padded inside - the feel reminds me of Crocs RX. I wear Size 7 shoe, and the Small fits me perfectly. I switched from the wooden driving shoe to this one after 4th week because my heel was getting very sore from carrying the bulk of weight, much better now. As one reviewer commented, this shoe is higher than other post-op ones, so I ordered an extra one for other foot to level me out - that was more economical than ordering an even-up attachment for regular shoe. Plus, I think I'll start wearing these as indoor shoes even after my foot heals - they are that comfortable! 5Perfect fit!I spiral fractured my 5th metatarsal--foot bone, and have to wear a boot for 6 weeks. I walk everywhere with the boot on, I wasn't about to wear that boot in bed. Gross. So I ordered this boot to wear at night and was amazed. The foot bed is firm and has the exact same feel as the orthopedic boot. It's made for left or right foot. The velcro is padded well and doesn't dig into the ankle or foot. It allows for ankle movement while limiting the movement of the foot. Great buy. 5Fits W 8.5-9 (EU39-40) perfectly! Sized WRONG! ProCare Squared Toe Post-Op Shoe,Small (Shoe Size: Men's 5.5 - 7/Women's 6.5 - 8)Took 4 purchase/returns to obtain correct protective ortho shoe for my broken 3rd toe, and possible metatarsal. This was the only shoe model that actually had the rocker bottom. :)Unfortunately all of the models bent slightly at the forefoot when walking- so they do not offer full immobilization of the foot necessary for healing. :(This one is the best of the bunch and will, hopefully provide enough structure. See images to display sizing errors. 4Very satisfied and affordableThis is not the first post surgery shoe I've used/owned but it is the best one. I'm so impressed with the quality and price. The bottom feels very secure and I'm reassured nothing is going to go through the bottom of this shoe! Also, the velcro at the front of the foot is a removable adjusting piece. Usually, they are connected to one side of the shoe and it can be awkward using it on either foot. This one makes it very easy for you to place the panel of velcro on from the direction that is natural for each foot and then tighten it appropriately.I got this to use as an alternative to always need to use a low rise walking boot for my foot, for months at a time, sometimes. It has worked out really well and my ankle gets a wonderful reprieve from the boot. i'll probably get a second one so my gait is more even; however, it gives a better gait than a regular shoe on one foot and a walking boot on the other. 5
